Old Doodles - Philadelphia Holiday Card

A Holiday card, done 15 years ago (wow) when I was in art school. It was a contest, for a few surrounding schools in the city, to create a card for the mayor of Philadelphia at the time, Ed Rendell. The mayor and his family would choose the winner and it would be the mayor's official holiday card.

I did not win, but I did come in second place. However, the company holding the contest, liked my design and wanted to use it for their holiday cards that year. So this was what was printed way back when.

I just remembered this year that I still have a ton of these, as they gave me a whole pack to use, so that's why I'm bringing it up now, lol.

It's funny to look back at this, as at the time I did almost everything in Adobe Illustrator and did not know the concept of layers! I don't know how I had the patience to do this. For those who know what I'm talking about, every shape, every line and every pine needle is on ONE LAYER and then grouped! I had to "push" and "pull" everything to get it where I wanted it. Ri-donk-ulous is what it is. I would do things waaaayyyyyy differently now. Like use Photoshop for starters. Oh, well... part of learning, I suppose.
